Maybe socialized medicine will become a reality. The insurance companies seemed to have committed suicide by mistreating their customers big time just before this presentation of the health plan.
Actually, it would not really be socialized medicine; it would be a hybrid. Now insurance companies will have some competition so they would not dare refuse treatment.
Perhaps I should not have used the word "socialized" medicine because one thinks of socialism and then communism and that upsets people especially Republicans. The public option would be uniquely American.
